Get involved in esports

It’s easy to get involved in a wide range of esports!

Competitive gaming, commonly known as esports, was where we began. Our humble beginnings involved a Doom 2 tournament being played modem-to-modem over twenty years ago. Dial-up noises still haunt some of our dreams. Over those twenty years we’ve expanded our business to other gaming-related areas, but it will always be both a duty and privilege to be able to help expand, organise, and further the cause of esports across the globe.

Esports is gaining popularity, which makes us happy as we’ve been pioneering competitive gaming events & tournaments for over 20 years. We work with players, sponsors, and partners to bring experience and professionalism to some of the largest esports events in the world today. However, esports isn’t just for full-time professionals; It can be for anyone with a drive to play competitively within a gaming environment. Anyone can get involved at any time, no matter what level you are, and there are a wide selection of games for you to pick from. Find your niche today and jump in!

Whether you solo-mid or clutch or land combos, there’s a competitive gaming scene ready and waiting for you to fall in love with it. All you have to do is take a deep breath, bring your A-game, and scroll down.

What is Esports?

Competitive gaming is finally hitting the mainstream

So what is esports?

Esports, or competitive gaming, is where you compete either online or in real life against live opponents in a video-game, often for prizes but also prestige. You can test your skills against friends and strangers alike. Everyone can be a part of esports, and our goal is to help with that, because we are gamers, and gathering together to play games is what we love to do.

We are incredibly proud of our contribution to esports in our history. We were one of the first to run professional esports tournaments in the UK, and we are still here, pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved. In the early days we hosted tournaments on games such as Team Fortress Classic, Tribes and Unreal Tournament, and our community would form many smaller communities around each game where players would practice for weeks and weeks just to have a better chance to win against their peers.

These days the hot titles in esports include League of Legends, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2 and more, which all feature both online and at our events as competitive esports tournaments.

Some of our biggest tournaments to date include a qualifier for the $1,000,000 COD XP tournament in Los Angeles, our own global Starcraft 2 tournaments (ESET UK Masters and the IGN Pro League Qualifier) and more recently, our world class Truesilver Championship, a thrice-yearly $30,000 Hearthstone tournament, where millions of viewers tune in worldwide to enjoy the live action.

We don’t just host tournaments for the professionals. We have a unique element to our Insomnia Festivals in that we host tournaments for thousands of amatuer & grassroots players across dozens of titles simultaneously, from the EA FIFA series and Street Fighter, to Minecraft and Smash Bros. We know how to scale competitions so everyone can feel accomplished!
