Meet the Team: Gemma Rye

Sales Operation enable the Global Sales Teams to succeed by designing, implementing and managing processes. They work to improve internal sales processes and provide support to our Global Sales Team.

What do you do at Multiplay?

I am the Sales Operations Manager for Multiplay. I am responsible for cross team project management, processes, systems, reporting, data management, training and enablement. From billing our customers to administering our CRM system, Sales Operations is a varied and far reaching role. My team are the Lifeline to the Pathfinder and Mirage.

What does a typical work day look like for you?

I don’t think there is a typical day! Every day is different to the one before and offers new challenges, which keeps things very interesting. The majority of my time is spent running projects to improve our internal processes and systems, this team’s main focus is making things easy for our Sales team to deliver the best customer experience they can.

What made you decide to work at Multiplay?

Having the opportunity to work in an industry I love was a huge bonus, however the main reason was being offered a role where I could forge my own path. I have been very lucky to have a position which has evolved with the company and will continue to do so, and I look forward to the challenges that are to come.

What cool projects are you working on?

I am focused on processes and beautiful data, honestly a lot of my projects might seem boring to most people, but I’m a data geek! I would say the most important project I have running at the moment is continuous improvement, named Project “Aloy”, its key focus is on efficiency and scale, we are always trying to identify new methods of automation and how best to enable the teams we support.

Favorite online video game experience?

I have two I can remember vividly, both relating to boss kills >_<

The first one was our first guild kill of Ragnaros in Molten Core (World of Warcraft). Working in a team of 40 was just as amazing as it is frustrating, I was a guild officer that ran the healers, stereotype alert I know, but being a part of that team and directing them was so exhilarating! I still have the screenshots saved on my PC.

The second was killing Crota for the first time in Destiny with my clan. I had been a bit behind leveling and they had already killed him several times and then I walk in and got Gjallarhorn on my first kill!

What are you most excited for in 2019 with Multiplay?

I think our growth and development this year will be huge and I’m really excited to not only see it, but also be a part of it and steer elements of that growth. Being part of an operations team means we get to play a huge part in moulding the way the company develops.

If everything in your house had to be all one colour, what colour would you pick?

The whole inside of our house at the moment is painted cream, it’s a lovely new build house and we haven’t been able to decorate yet, but does that count?!? If it was just the walls and the same colour but different shades I could probably deal with it. But I have no idea what colour I would choose!

Multiplay is located on the border of Hampshire’s beautiful New Forest, and populated with a diverse team dedicated to bringing people together in interactive experiences.
