SpecialEffect is our a charity we’ve supported for a long time, helping them to raise money and awareness for the cause of helping people with disabilities play video games, and today we are delighted to announce our involvement with GameBlast15.
Set to broadcast live from Jagex Studios’ brand new streaming suite on February 20th 2015, GameBlast15 is another instalment in the charitable gaming marathon. Last year’s GameBlast14 raised over £70,000, helping fund SpecialEffect’s technological solutions that make games more accessible for people with physical disabilities, and GameBlast15 is set to be even bigger and better with a fundraising target of £100,000 across the weekend.
Steve Wilson, head of creative & broadcast, Multiplay said, “SpecialEffect has been a cause close to our hearts at Multiplay, and as our official charity, we’ll do everything we can to raise its profile and support its events.” He continued, “I’m personally honoured to be involved, and everyone at Multiplay is thrilled to be working closely with Jagex to help SpecialEffect achieve its ambitions for 2015.”
Jane Ryan, event director, Jagex added, “Having Multiplay on board not only helps us amplify the SpecialEffect message, it also doubles the fun. We had a fantastic time with last year’s event and we’ve got a fresh stack of community focused activities that should raise a few smiles, as well as some money for a very worthy cause.”
